Originally training as a Nurse, I have many years of experience in nursing and management roles including working in the NHS, Social Care, a Private Hospital, Children’s Residential Homes and a Children’s Hospice.
A few years ago, whilst working in a role that I had loved for 8 years I became unsettled and unsure whether I wanted to stay there or move to something that might offer more challenge.
I was lucky enough to access some coaching sessions, which I thought might be interesting and hopefully vaguely useful.
I soon realised I had completely underestimated its impact - it was fascinating, engaging and extremely enlightening.
I had two sessions during which I had 3 “lightbulb” moments that completely turned the “problem” I’d had on its head.
I became hooked on the coaching process and so when the opportunity to gain a professional qualification presented itself I grabbed it! It is always a privilege to witness the “aha” moments and positive difference coaching can make.
To help someone achieve work related or personal goals and move forward with a better understanding of themselves along with proven strategies to support their future development is extremely satisfying.
Having worked as a nurse, following a professional code of conduct and meeting high standards in my practice is second nature and I wanted to do nothing less as a coach.
Therefore as well as obtaining an accredited coaching qualification I am also a member of the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) and have been awarded their European Individual Accreditation at Practitioner level. (Reference number EIA20193083)
This means that you can be assured that the standard and quality of the coaching you will receive from me meets their criteria for excellence.
This includes a commitment to the EMCC Global Code of Ethics and to continuing my own professional development.
